Terms of Service
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Acts2, a live interpretation service operated by Prebabel (“Prebabel”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, hosting a session or buying a plan you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the church or organisation you represent.
1. The service
Acts2 turns one speaker’s voice into live interpreted audio and captions that listeners open on their own phones by scanning a QR code. Hosts run sessions from the Acts2 app; owners and admins manage their organisation, billing and integrations at acts2.prebabel.ai.
Listeners do not need an account. Each organisation has a permanent room link and QR code.
2. Accounts and organisations
You sign in with an email address and a one-time code. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure.
An organisation (a church or a business) is created by its owner, who may invite admins and hosts. The owner and admins are responsible for who they invite, for the content spoken in their sessions, and for having the right to broadcast and interpret it.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Acts2 to:
- interpret or broadcast content you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or that incites violence;
- record people without the notice or consent the law requires where you are;
- probe, overload, reverse-engineer or bypass limits of the service, its API or its rate limits;
- resell or white-label the service without our written agreement;
- misrepresent machine interpretation as the work of a human or certified interpreter.
We may suspend a session or account that breaks these rules or puts the service or other users at risk. Where practical we will tell you first.
4. Plans, billing and payment
Usage is measured in translation hours: one hour of interpreted speech into one language (1 hour streaming × 3 languages = 3 translation hours). Silence, songs, music and paused time are not counted. Listeners are unlimited and free. All prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes.
- Free trial: the first organisation a person creates receives 4 free translation hours. No card is required.
- Pay As You Go: a prepaid balance at $5 per translation hour. Top up any amount from $10 to $1,000. Your balance does not expire. Auto top-up is optional and charges your saved card only when you turn it on.
- Subscriptions: Standard $99/month (25 hours), Advanced $299/month (100 hours) and Premium $499/month (250 hours), or yearly at $990, $2,990 and $4,990 with the included hours granted monthly. Hours beyond the plan are billed as overage at $4, $3 and $2 per extra hour respectively, metered per second.
- Hours are used in this order: free hours, plan hours, Pay As You Go balance, then overage (subscriptions only).
Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel or change plan at any time in the billing portal, effective at the end of the current period. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees and top-ups already paid are non-refundable. [Refund policy placeholder — pending legal review.]
If your hours run out during a live session, the session continues for a 30-minute grace period and then ends; new sessions start again once you add hours.
5. Machine interpretation — accuracy
Acts2 interpretation and captions are generated automatically by artificial-intelligence models. They can mishear, mistranslate, omit or add words, and they are not a certified or professional interpreter.
Do not rely on Acts2 alone where an error could cause harm — for example legal proceedings, medical or safety instructions, or contracts. Use a qualified human interpreter for those. You are responsible for deciding whether Acts2 is suitable for your setting and for telling your listeners that interpretation is machine-generated.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to what is spoken in your sessions, your organisation name, logo and glossary. You give Prebabel the limited permission needed to process that content to provide the service — including sending live audio to our interpretation provider and delivering captions and webhooks you configure. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party services
Acts2 relies on providers including OpenAI (interpretation), Supabase (sign-in and database), Stripe (payments) and Cloudflare (hosting). Their outages can affect the service. Integrations you enable (webhooks, API keys, broadcast overlays) send data to systems you choose and control.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep sessions running through network drops and long pauses, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features; if we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will give reasonable notice.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Acts2 at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end or suspend access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if required by law. Sections 4 (amounts owed), 5, 6, 10 and 11 survive termination.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”, and Prebabel is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss arising from reliance on machine interpretation. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have jurisdiction. [Governing-law and dispute clause placeholder — pending legal review.]
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we will notify account owners of material changes. Questions: privacy@prebabel.ai.
